Ready to push the boundaries of what's possible? Master multi-color workflows, multi-piece builds, and the advanced hardware used by power users.
Advanced 3D Printing is designed for the creators who wants to move beyond single-color models and simple tools into the world of intricate, high-performance creation.
In this class, we focus heavily on the Bambu Lab AMS. You'll learn the professional workflow for multi-color printing, including how to map colors in the slicer and manage material transitions for clean, vibrant results.
We also explore the engineering side of 3D printing. You’ll learn how to plan and execute multi-piece builds where parts must fit together with high precision.
From using dedicated support materials for a perfect surface finish to managing long-duration prints, this class provides the technical deep-dive needed to create functional, professional-grade inventions.
Our goal is to turn you into a power user, capable of utilizing every feature of modern 3D printing technology to bring your most ambitious ideas to life.
What You'll Learn:
Multi-Color Workflows: Comprehensive training on the AMS system, filament flushing, and color-painting models.
Complex Assemblies: Strategies for printing parts that snap, screw, or hinge together with tight tolerances.
Advanced Support Tech: Using interface materials (like Support-W) to achieve flawless surfaces on complex overhangs.
Hardware Optimization: Fine-tuning speed, acceleration, and temperature for high-performance results.
Multi-Material Printing: Combining different material types in a single build for functional prototypes.
Students who master production basics and are ready to tackle the most advanced projects we offer.
Makers who own (or plan to) a multi-color system and want to master the software & hardware behind it.
Anyone looking to create multi-part mechanical devices, prototypes, or custom tools.
You must have completed Production Basics (Level 2). The advanced settings we cover in this class require a solid grasp of the slicing and troubleshooting skills taught in previous levels.
Yes! A major focus of this class is mastering the Automatic Material System for multi-color and multi-material printing.
We provide high-quality unique models for you to practice on, but you are more than welcome to bring your own files to discuss how to best prepare them for advanced printing.
Because of the technical complexity, we recommend Level 3 for students ages 12 and up who have successfully progressed through Levels 1 and 2.
While we discuss how to modify models for better printing, this is still a print-focused class. For creating models from scratch, we recommend our CAD Design Class.
